Broen / Bron: A new Russian version

Production company  Filmlance announced today that Bron will be made at a new location.

This time around it’s the Russian and Estonian border who will share the plot.  The Guardian reports that The Narva Friendship Bridge will be the location of the country dividing plot.

Earlier, USA/Mexico and UK/France have had versions made from the Danish-Swedish original

Those were made by FX as The Bridge.

Sky Atlantic made the UK/French The Tunnel.

Currently The Tunnel is airing on PBS and SKY. Season 1 started on June 19 2016.

Filmlance will work with Nimbus Film in creating the East European version. Producing the series is Weit Media and the Russian channel NTV will broadcast.

Russian investigator Maxim Kazantsev (Michail Porechenkov) and Estonian Detective Inga Veermaa (Ingeborga Dapkunaite). Production has started and 2 season are being produced with ten episodes each.

Related to this news, Hans Rosenfeldt, creator of the original is writing the first three episodes of season 4 for Broen/Bron. The seasonal murder case will involve Halloween and three mannequins and  a victim.  (Aftonbladet refers to a pod with Rosenfeldt.)
