Westworld: In the wake of POI and Banshee

October 2016 is opening month for the next big thing on HBO. Westworld, the TV-series. Ten episodes created by Jonathan Nolan and J.J. Abrams, both minds from Person of Interest (CBS)

Westworld is a remake of Michael Crichton’s movie from 1973. With the right cast this has all chances to be a hit. Travel to a safe environment and live as a character in an adventure, in this case a Wild West drama! You interact with the other members of the cast of a set called Westworld. A theme park for adult tastes. Be prepared to brush up on “The laws of robotics” by Isaac Asimov and the flaws of the Nexus6 replicants of “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep” by Philip K. Dick.

We’ll see one of the main cast from Banshee (Cinemax) make an appearance in Westworld. Keep an eye out for Lily Simmons. The larger parts of the series have Ed Harris (The Right Stuff)and Anthony Hopkins (Silence of The Lambs) as stars. Norwegian actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal will be playing a larger part in the series than Simmons, who seems to have a smaller, recurring role in the series.

We also see Jimmi Simpson as one of the guests at Westworld. Simpson is last seen as Logan Pierce in POI.

How this all will play out and who will be good or bad, time will tell. But my bet  is that Ed Harris will don a black hat.

As with most stories about man versus machine, the question What’s human will be key here too. For those who’ve played Bethesda’s Fallout 4 will recognize this imagery:

Live your dream!
Come, be a hero in The Wild West!

Really looking forward to this. The production on the trailer looks great, and it has a great cast. Hope it lives up to the expectation.
